Sezibwa Falls is located 32 kilometres from Uganda’s capital city, Sezibwa Falls is considered a Buganda heritage site in the Mukono district. History has it that two rivers, named Sezibwa and its brother Bwanda, were born to one Nakangu Tebateesa on her way to Bukunja. It is believed they gave birth to twins in the form of water, where Sezibwa flowed west and Bwanda flowed east towards Nyenga. The site is believed to have so many powers that most people go for supernatural powers and healing.
Things to do at Sezibwa Falls
Cultural Encounter
While at Sezibwa, tourists can take a visit to the traditional healer’s place. This is believed to be where the traditional healers camp as they ask for blessings. Worshippers at this site believe that the falls have powers to heal them from some diseases, challenge their enemies, and bring wealth and childbearing, among others.
Rock Climbing
These are near the Sezibwa Falls, and most tourists prefer climbing there to take pictures with beautiful views of the falls as well as the surroundings.
Bird Watching
This is one of the main activities taking place at Sezibwa is birdin, therefore a chance for most bird lovers while on the safari in the Pearl of Africa. Notable birds include the Great Blue Turaco, African Ground Thrush, Double-Toothed Barbet, Buff-Spotted Woodpecker and African Pygmy Kingfisher, among others.
